With the rising cost of textbooks, the use of open educational resources (OER) can significantly increase student learning and success. In addition, educators are looking to open educational practice (OEP) to increase collaboration, co-creation of knowledge and take learners outside the normal boundaries of the classroom. This workshop will introduce you to the world of OER and OEP and will introduce simple strategies for incorporating them into your classes. We will also provide you with an overview of the various supports available at TRU for OER adoption, adaptation, and development and and integrating OEP strategies.  This interactive workshop gives you practical tools and experience to champion OER and OEP in your teaching and learning context.
